Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career shortly after attending Stanford University. Early in her career, she played roles in movies like Pleasantville as well as Election. But it was Elle Woods' portrayal in Legally Blonde which marked a significant turning point. Witherspoon received an Academy Award for her performance in Walk the Line in 2005. She made her feature film debut in the comedy The Invisible Man. Then, she appeared in a variety of shows on television, such as House of Lies Whitney, Better Call Saul and The Invisible Man. Also, she was in the films The Dictator and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. An accomplished painter, she has also exhibited in several galleries.
