April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player in the US, is among a select group of women who have been awarded medals at more than one Olympics. In Tokyo during the next few days she will attempt to net her third medal with fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross is determined to earn more than her first Olympic medal. At 39 and has a long way to go, this could be her last shot. But she's still certain of taking top honors. If we do our best or even if we do well, I believe we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. That's why I'm taking a little bit of luck as well. Ross was born in 1982 in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a her sister. Ross's athletic endeavors continued at Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of activities. She was a basketball player and also ran track in addition to her volleyball skills in the indoors as a prep athlete. Though she excelled in indoor volleyball, it was clear that her abilities were higher than average. Based on her biography, she was a middle blocker and an outside volleyball player throughout her time in high school. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the National Player in 1999. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her for volleyball. Although Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple since the year 2017, Klineman had already been a major player on the beach scene prior to their team. Actually, Ross has won several major tournaments in her career together with two other partners. One of them is a volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 until the year 2013. She also worked with Klineman and herself. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who was the winner of the world championship alongside Kessy in 2009, was also significant on the international stage. They went into winning a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team that could take home the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The pair won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. In high school and the many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross balled out for the USC Trojans as a collegiate. Her career was a success during her time in the college. As a freshmen in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. The Trojans made it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss during her sophomore year, but was still capable of achieving the All-American distinction. Over the course of her final two seasons she led the Trojans up the mountain and clinched consecutive national championships. As an individual, she established her place as a legend having won the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross, an USC international relations student, was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross did not get to witness her daughter's rise to fame as a beach volleyball player. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to keep her mother's memory close and close. Also, Margie continues to be an motivation for her at the beaches and throughout her daily life.
