Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, making her the second-youngest winner of the award in Oscar history. When she answered an open call for auditions to play the character, she got it in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of an mute Scottish piano player who moves into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. It was her first role at the age of nine years old and did not have any acting experience. As a teenager, she made the move to America. Paquin had a small part in the film's title role when she was still a kid on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as an important role in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin was a part-time actress in the TV film of 1997 adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. Also, she played Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed in the role of Polexia Aphrodisa girl in Almost Famous (2000).
